How might data be collected for this target response?Identify several interventions that might help improve response rates. Place them in order with the least-restrictive at the top so that the interventions may be introduced systematically, adding more restrictive / less favorable interventions after the outcomes of less restrictive options have been measured.
self-report

praising staff/acknowledging who have 80% or higher accuracy

direct training with BA

individual meetings to clarify expectations
individual meetings to discuss variables influencing peformance
individual meetings to review data with a goal in place

The behavior analyst should go for the entire day for multiple days to observe the staff behavior to see what may be hindring them to take data (too much resposnse effort for example).

Making data collection easy- ree-evaluate the response effort the staff has to put in

Take baseline data for the behavior analyst- to ensure that the behavior you want them to record is still relevant

Review policies about data collection and discuss any barriers that the staff may have to collect the data.

Identify who is using data sheets and how. Finding an alternative method that might be more effective for the staff (phone, iPad, clicker, etc)

- Measure who is using data sheets and who isn’t
- Implement consequences for use of data sheets
- Alternative methods or making it easier to use
- Address barriers for use (timing, number of staff, ease of binder accessibility, etc)

Review of data collection and staff observation

Review of importance of data collection and workplace standards.
Staff monitoring and collection of data of staff data collection.
Provide feedback and post data for staff to review.

Reduce task effort, adjust staffing, model

Data could be collected using event recording or permanent product review to track the number of correct responses during a session. A simple tally sheet or data form can be used by the RBT or supervisor to record each correct instance and calculate the overall response rate.

To improve response rates, interventions could include: (1) increased reinforcement for correct responses, (2) visual prompts or task modifications, (3) response prompting (e.g., least-to-most), (4) direct teaching using Behavior Skills Training (BST), and (5) performance-based consequences such as retraining or increased supervision. These should be introduced in that order, starting with the least intrusive.

Self monitoring by staff if they collected data for the day.

Self monitoring
Peer monitoring
Management monitoring

Increase oversight and training of expectations

Developing a checklist
Staff training
Increased supervision and feedback

checklists

Incentive systems- lottery, prizes,
Graphing progress display publicly
Consequences/punishment for non-adherence

interviews for necessary resources and feedback
The BCBA could implement self monitoring checklists and check ins to observe behavior.

The BCBA could have checklists and reminders for a schedule as to when programs should be run. Also a spot to initial so she can review the data at end of week to see who actually took data and ran programs. A contingency should be put in place for taking data to receive reinforcement and also consequences for not taking data.

Make data collection easier for staff

Attempt to conduct observations during typical conditions (e.g., the employee is not sick or
unduly affected by factors like low staffing or unfamiliar clients or tasks)

A Staff should be assigned to the binder per shift and provided a sign in sheet that they can sign to show when they have the binder and that way it will be easy to track which staff had the binder, when they had the binder and whether they recorded data or not.

Provide training so that staff are clear on the expectation and can actually do it. Provide reinforcement for staff who take the binder when assigned, record data and submit it back at the end of their assignment. Corrective feedback and or discipline should be provided for failure to record data as assigned.

Video monitoring, observation

Self monitoring

what monitoring by supervisor is happening?

model appropriate behavior, provide verbal prompting and feedback, provide written feedback

Collect IOA data during supervision
Review expectations
review data collection procedures
alter environment to make data collection easier for techs
create incentives

Collect data on staff behavior and consequences

Graph feedback
Group feedback
Individual feedback

Evaluation for expected behavior

Create a program for self-monitoring with a checklist for expected behavior and non-behavior. Have other colleagues collect data and provide constant feedback.

self monitor

make data collection more simple

It's not being collected, so occurance data.

Self-monitoring, weekly check ins, daily check ins, direct observation and corrective feedback, full staff training.

Identify barriers caused by not collecting data
