Has no interest in his actual assigned job. This should have been considered especially when out in the community.

He should be given an opportunity to do check out and see if he is better able to manage working and socializing. A self-monitoring system could also be trialed or a checklist of must dos before can dos like greeting customers.

John should be given opportunities to engage in others with built in supports to encourage peer engagement. He should be given training on self monitoring to complete tasks and allow for time to engage with peers. They should include John in his placement and solutions he may give feedback about.

Focus on implementing an intervention targeting John’s distractive behavior

-Set up a schedule or criteria for stocking shelves then allow him to take customer service break where he can interact with customers.

Program supports are needed to keep the learner on task and reduce off-task behaviors.

Talking with job placement to see if there are opportunities for social interaction

MIght need to switch to a role that allows some socializing with customers, training on how to do his role appropriately, social skills training so knowing appropriate ways and amounts to interact w/ customers and coworkers

John provided feedback about his placement and his position which might not be an ideal fit. Taking this into consideration and making changes can improve John's work production.
