The analyst could collect data of social validity on how well John does with the customers at the job. This could then be used to advocate for a potential change in his job placement. He could maybe be allowed to work as a cashier on a few days, as long as he is trained in the cash register and money management skills to do this job. A system could be put in place to reinforce working as cashier as long as he meets appropriate performance while stocking selves. This could assist with both jobs.

Self-monitoring goal in which individual is redirected back to task based on a duration of time intervals. Example: watch that vibrates every 10 mins so that the individual is re-directed to stay on-task

Give him some training in his area of interest and allow him to engage in that with supports. This could change his outcome and increase his on task behaviors in a job placemnet area he enjoys.

Provide social stories, self monitoring

Provide more training to him and the staff. See if placement needs to be reevaluated.

Give John opportunities to engage in areas of interest at his work. Provide BST for learning routines and appropriate tijmes for conversation

Provide opportunities for socialization and guidance around when socializing is expected at work

Providing a checklist for the order of task might be helpful. Social stories could also be utilized in this instance to teach appropriate skills needed for this particular job.

Consider whether this training opportunity is the right fit based on client interest, and whether there is another more social opportunity. Utilize discrete timers to signal when task is complete and breaks can be taken to converse with others.
