| Interest is the greatest motivator! Complete an interest assessment to see if there could be a better fit for John. If he remains in this position, work in opportunities for him to engage with customers and colleagues.

| It may be best to talk to the store manager or whoever and see if John could bag groceries or find a different position to assist him that incorporates his interest in people.

| CREATE A MOTIONAL SYSTEM TO PROVIDE SOCIAL INTERACTION TIME AS A REWARD

| I would speak with the store staff about the possibility of John working as a bagger once his stocking responsibilities are completed. A behavioral contract with John, based on his performance of his duties stocking shelves. If he completes his duties stocking, he will have an opportunity to work as a bagger. Some social skills training on appropriate behavior in the workplace would be beneficial as well.
