Less Restrictive Toilet Training for Learners with ASD

Behavior analysis toilet training methods were established decades ago (Azrin & Foxx, 1971) and have received little attention since, leaving behavior analysts to wonder whether all the components of this initial method are still necessary. Perez et al. (2020) adapted a toilet training procedure for neurotypical children for use with children with ASD. The method also includes procedures for identifying the least-restrictive effective method.  Downloadable resources are provided for implementation.
