Sexual Abuse of People with Intellectual Disabilities takes a look at the reality of sexual abuse of individuals affected with intellectual disabilities (ID). The facts are intertwined with qualitative experiences of this population and their unique vulnerabilities and struggles.
The 2018 NPR investigation on the sexual abuse of individuals with intellectual disabilities, Abused and Betrayed, is reviewed and examined for applications to the work of behavior analysts. Themes from the investigation are considered with regard to the BACB ethical code.
