Escape Extinction: Ethics and Alternatives

This course counts as 4 ethics BACB CEUs.

Is escape extinction necessary?  Are there hands-off approaches that might work just as well, or better, than extinction?

Recent research has demonstrated effective interventions for escape-motivated behavior that do not use escape extinction.  Relevant ethical codes are considered and alternatives from recent research are reviewed.  Participants can expect to become more familiar with ethical concerns regarding escape extinction, review a variety of alternatives to escape extinction demonstrated in recent research, and consider additional considerations from recent research for making escape extinction safer.
